About Sierra Anglers Fly Shop

Sierra Anglers Fly Shop was established in November of 1987. My passion for the sport is still as strong today as it was when I started fly fishing our beautiful Sierra Nevada in 1959. This site is dedicated to my parents, George and Takako Nakagawa, who introduced me to the sport of fishing. I think of them frequently as I visit the waters that we fished together. I will forever be grateful to them.

Why Fly Fishing? 

I feel that fly fishing provides an excitement and challenge that is unsurpassed by any other form of fishing. From trying to entice an extremely selective trout sipping on insects, to catching brook trout that will strike any fly, to casting huge flies to powerful saltwater monsters, fly fishing provides a never-ending challenge that can never be totally mastered.
